A very important part of Freia's design is the use of composite materials like carbonfibre- and glassfibre-reinforced plastic.

This allows Freia to have the complex shape needed to provide comfort without cushioning, which would be difficult using other materials.

Another benefit is the light weight of Freia. Using composite materials allows strength to be focused exactly where needed, resulting in a very efficient structure.

It also means that Freia can be made individually with almost any bespoke colour or finish.
